If you want to build a classic sustainable strong physique and health, you need to consume more saturated fats from animal sources as well as from coconut and dairy – butter, ghee. While consuming less unsaturated fats like vegetable oils, nuts and seeds, grains etc. It is also advised to consume more beneficial sugars from fruits and root vegetables. These foods not only facilitate a healthy metabolism but support healthy sustainable fat loss and muscular development. Health and Strength!
If you currently find yourself eating a diet high in the unsaturated foods I mentioned or were like most American children and ate out at restaurants, food chains like McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken, or consumed copious amounts of cereals, microwavable TV dinners and school lunches then you most likely consumed a diet high in unsaturated fats. It is imperative to start switching to a more pro health choice of foods that are saturated animal fats, tropical fruits and root vegetables to shift the balance to a more favorable ratio of saturated to unsaturated fats in the body.
Importance of Vitamin E
“Vitamin E is a major lipid soluble antioxidant that scavenges free radicals generated by lipid peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). Deficiency of this essential nutrient manifests primarily as neurological degeneration.” The Faseb Journal, 2014
The more unsaturated foods we currently eat or ate growing up, the higher the requirement for vitamin E to protect ourselves and detoxify these unsaturated fats from our body.
“The vitamin E requirement will increase with an increase in PUFA consumption and with the degree of unsaturation of the PUFA in the diet.” British Journal of Nutrition, 2015
This is why I recommend you supplement with vitamin E (opposes unsaturated fats) to facilitate the body in detoxifying the unsaturated fats from a childhood of PUFA poisoning. You do this on top of slowly correcting the diet. If you do not correct the diet then you are simply putting bandaids over bullet holes. However, it is a great start and a strategy that should definitely be used at the start.

Detoxifying Polyunsaturated Fats
It can take up to 4 years to rid the body of these polyunsaturated fats. Switching to pro metabolic nutrition and supplementing with Vitamin E (especially in the beginning stages to help rid excess PUFA from the body) goes a long way! Just start today and focus on one day at a time!
“How to detox PUFAs: Displace them with saturated fats, consume vitamin E, consume carbohydrates consistently, consume animal protein consistently and do everything you can to lower stress. The liver needs glycogen to detox PUFAs and the body needs vitamin E because PUFAs create a vitamin E deficiency. We have been consuming them in large amounts our entire lives!” Matt Blackburn
