The deadlift can be a great thigh and glute developer on its own but to really get a greater contraction of the glutes (i like butts and I cannot lie), adding a band around the body will keep the tension on the glutes at the top of the movement (when you stand up fully at the top) where the glutes are not as engaged (tension drops off).

The force of the band (as you stand up fully) wants to pull you backwards, so you have to really engage and contract the glutes hard to bring the hips forward (more tension engaged in the glutes/working muscle).

Small additions, not always necessary to make, however, can bring about major development and progress to ones physique when done properly.

Also because of the heavier load and the speed of the movement (context driven, goal focal point/oriented), this is a great total body most bang for your buck so that you do not need to work out for hours on end.

More smart work done in less time by using movements that sculpt and build the body we want!

The more muscle you develop (not necessarily in size aka you don’t always get bigger in size) the more fat you burn at rest, at home sleeping, cooking, eating, relaxing, etc outside of the gym!
