CHOOSE COMPASSION
If you find yourself getting pissed at someone make the conscious choice to focus on compassion and focusing on their humanity.
Let’s face it it’s very easy to get annoyed with individuals in our lives.
Sometimes you have a valid reason and sometimes you don’t … but either way, more often than not the best option is to let it go baby.
Pause, take a breathe, and focus on who they are as a human. We don’t know what this person has been through, or is experiencing today
We tend to think of people with more kindness and compassion when we know their stories.
Remember, that person who annoys the fuck out of you, is an actual human with feelings and hardships just like you.
LET GO OF EXPECTATIONS
We tend to have a picture of how our day and life will play out.
It’s really easy to write the day or life off as a horrible when you have high EXPECTATIONS for how things will turn out, it’s disappointing and frustrating when things don’t go exactly as planned.
When you’re focused on how you expect something to turn out, it can be hard as fuck to see the reality of the situation. If you let go of expectations and open your mind, you can see that life really isn’t so bad.
We are all learning and perfecting our art of navigating through this thing called life.
If you tend to get pissed over the small shit, take a breathe and ask yourself if you’re letting unrealistic expectations affect your experience.

The solution is taking a PAUSE a moment to step back; look at the situation, and then deciding how you want to RESPOND instead of REACT.
Here are some things that are helpful for me, when perfecting the art of responding instead of reacting
RESIST THE URGE TO COMPLAIN
Believe me, I know this one is easier said than done. However, the quickest way to not let something little bother you?
Don’t complain about it whatsoever.
When you complain about an issue, you magnify the situation; you’re focusing attention on an issue and making it larger than it needs to be.
Plus no one really fucking cares.
We all have hardships and struggles, and we all want to be happy.
Complaining is a mindless habit and you have the power to stop that shit.
When I complain — it’s akin to a reflex, something that happens automatically without thought.
It’s a lazy way to make conversation and bond with people and I’m totally guilty of this
At first you will have to make a conscious choice to not steer the conversation in this direction. But as with any habit, new conversation skills take hold with practice.
LOOK AT THE LITTLE PICTURE
Sometimes I read too much into things
When I’m not feeling my best, it’s easy as fuck to misinterpret the intent behind other people’s little comments or actions.
For example; “I’m upset because my friends didn’t invite me to that party” morphs into “I’m pissed because no on thinks of me and no one likes me.”

The reality is probably somewhere more along the lines of “they didn’t even think you’d want to go, because you said you were really busy.” but sometimes reality is hard to see when you’re easily upset over every little thing.
Regardless of the real reason you missed out on a party with your friends, the TRUTH is you can’t control the things that happen to you, but you can control how you react.
The reality of the situation is the less you let things bother you, the happier you will be.
