Brett: Well, thanks for being here. So Elliot, tell us what inspired you to write this book about what woman want in a man.
Elliot: Well, it really was my own journey like many books are type it’s person’s own journey. I was married for ten years then I got divorced. And like a lot of people at first I blamed the other person, right, it’s all their faults and then it come to the point, I think, what do I have learnt from this, I don’t want to go through this again and start really set out on a journey of what does it mean to be a man trying to learn what it means to be a man and first thing I learnt was a lot of men are confused. When you sort of talk to the men, you hear all these messages, you know, be sensitive, don’t be controlling, be you know a nice guy and it does not seem to be working. We are trying our best to so nice and so pleasing to women and they don’t seem to be happy and then I started reading books on relationships. I read like a mountain of books and it really didn’t say anything to be what does it mean to be a man and that’s only when I turned to the time with insight that fathers and other older male role models used to teach younger man about what it mean to be a man that has blown away, the thing it really blew me, right, was that a coincided with what I heard women complaint of lacking in men today. They don’t show leadership. They don’t make decision and they don’t take responsibility. This seems to be like this massive disconnect but men thinking oh don’t be controlling, don’t make any decisions, let her make her own decisions.

Why Orange Juice is Better Than Green Juice by Steven Macari, Part 2:
3. Orange juice is an excellent way to balance our hormones. Often, low-carbohydrate diets, particularly diets that are low in fruit, can lead to a broken hormonal system. The addition of a few ounces of orange juice upon waking can replenish your glycogen (stored glucose in your liver) and kickstart the production of the all-important active thyroid hormone (T3). Without adequate glycogen this process can't happen (this is one of the reasons why you might have an extra chill in the morning). Instead of your morning lemon water, consider adding a few ounces of orange juice. Take it up a notch by adding a pinch of sea salt. This same drink can also be very beneficial as an electrolyte beverage. I often tell people to "eat for heat" and orange juice is a great way to build heat in the body.
4. Orange juice is an easily-digestible carbohydrate source. Many people with digestive issues struggle to digest starches. This would include "bad" starches such as breads, cereals and pasta and even "good" starches such as rice, potatoes and squash. For such people, a small glass of orange juice with a balanced meal can be a great way to flood the body with an easily-accessible energy source that will give your digestive system time to heal. Many "gut"-healing protocols incorporate this idea.
TIPS
If orange juice gives you heartburn, consider the source. A fresh squeezed juice from a local juice shop as opposed to a store-bought juice can make a big difference in terms of your ability to digest. Many times the heartburn is a result of the processing process that take place in large manufacturing facilities. Watermelon juice also has many benefits.
If you have been following a low sugar diet, consider starting very slow—a few ounces a day and work your way up to a glass or two. Consume your orange juice with a protein source. It will help you utilize your protein more efficiently (i.e. eggs and orange juice). For those with anemia, a glass of orange juice can increase iron absorption when consumed at the same time as a food high in iron (i.e. grass-fed beef and a glass of orange juice).
