Breathing Pullovers and How Do You Get Your Waist So Small Gregory?, is a question I get from a lot of people and clients.
A small waist is a by product of a lot of things.
1. Eating pro-metabolic foods that facilitate health, muscular development, and fat loss.
2. Adhering to macronutrient ratios (protein, sugar, fat) within each meal and overall in a day, that work for me by tracking and measuring progress.
3. Never Restricting. I make sure I eat a lot throughout the day.
4. Making sure I am living in a way that serves me, serves others and makes me happy. Happiness is a necessity for health, wellbeing, and a great sustainable body.
5. Owning my shit, and my excuses.
6. Being real with myself and others. ALWAYS!
7. Sleeping a lot and at the right times.
8. Recovering as much as I can through different means.
9. Managing stress and stressors.
10. Not worrying about what I can't control and controlling what I can!
11. Performing a lot of abdominal vacuums, indirectly and directly.
12. Not performing bulking abdominal/obliques exercise/movements.
13. Breathing pullovers (as seen in the photographs) by themselves but usually done right after a set of squats, and breathing squats. This pairing kicks my ass every single time.
Pullovers can target many muscles and depending on the focus can target the chest more or the lats more, and both. My focus for now with these is to target pretty much everything in general, triceps, chest, abdominals, serratus, with a little more intent on lats, serratus, and abdominals since I superset these with deep knee bends.
I keep the hips as low as possible during the movement but I have done the Larry Scott version where you raise the hips up as you bring the weight back to the starting position. I prefer keeping my hips low throughout.
